COMING BACK: THE RESILIENCE RESET TOOLKIT THAT HELPED ME RETURN STRONGER

by May 1, 2025

It feels both strange and familiar to be typing these words. If you’ve been around here for a while, you might have noticed my absence. Three years of silence is a long time in the digital world – practically an eternity.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” — Anne Lamott

WHY I DISAPPEARED

The truth? I didn’t plan to step away for so long. What started as a short break gradually extended as I found myself needing to practice what I had always preached to my clients: presence over productivity, depth over breadth, boundaries that protect what matters most.

My kids needed me – not the distracted version of me who was half-listening while composing captions in my head, but the fully present mom who could hold space for their growing pains and celebrations. My coaching clients needed me – not the scattered version trying to be everywhere at once, but the grounded guide who could sit in their challenges with clarity and compassion.

And if I’m being completely honest with myself, I needed me too.

The hamster wheel of content creation, the pressure to remain constantly visible, the subtle but persistent feeling that I was never doing quite enough – it was all taking a toll that I couldn’t ignore anymore. The signs of burnout were flashing red, and for once, I decided to heed them.

WHAT BURNOUT TAUGHT ME

We’ve all heard the metaphor of the frog in gradually heating water, unable to detect the danger until it’s too late. That was me – an expert in helping others manage stress while slowly cooking in my own pot of commitments and expectations.

Here’s what burnout looked like for me:

  • Dreading the ping of notifications
  • Feeling resentful of the very community I’d worked so hard to build
  • Losing the thread of why my work mattered in the first place
  • Experiencing creativity as a burden rather than a joy
  • Finding myself unable to access the wisdom I so readily offered others

I’ve come to understand burnout not as a badge of honor or an inevitable byproduct of ambition, but as a relationship with ourselves that has fallen profoundly out of balance. It’s what happens when we’ve said yes to everyone else for so long that we’ve forgotten how to say yes to our own deeper needs.
And for the overachievers among us (I’m raising my hand here), burnout is particularly sneaky because we’re so good at pushing through discomfort, at normalizing exhaustion as simply “what it takes” to succeed.

THE QUIET REBUILDING

During my time away, something unexpected happened in the silence. Without the pressure to package every insight into a shareable post, I found myself actually living the lessons I’d been teaching. I became a student of my own experience again.

I watched how my nervous system responded to different inputs. I noticed how certain breathing patterns could shift my mental state in minutes. I documented the small practices that helped me move from frazzled to focused, from overwhelmed to open.

What emerged was what I now call “The Mental Reset Toolkit” – not because I set out to create a product, but because I desperately needed these tools myself. They became my lifeline on days when everything felt like too much, when the weight of global events collided with personal responsibilities and left me gasping for air.

WHY I’M BACK

I’m not returning to social media because I’ve conquered burnout forever or because I’ve achieved some perfect state of balance.

I’m here because I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never faltering – it’s about how we rise, how we reset, how we return to ourselves when we’ve drifted away.

I’m back because I believe deeply in the power of community, in the comfort of shared struggle, in the possibility that my journey might offer something useful to yours. And I’m back with boundaries intact, with a voice that feels more authentically mine than ever before.

ABOUT MENTAL CLARITY

One of the most precious gifts of my time away has been rediscovering mental clarity – that elusive state where decisions flow easily, where creativity bubbles up unbidden, where complex problems suddenly reveal their simple cores.

In our information-saturated world, clarity has become increasingly rare and increasingly valuable. We’re all navigating unprecedented levels of input, wrestling with decision fatigue, and trying to prioritize effectively while our attention is pulled in countless directions.

What I’ve discovered is that mental clarity isn’t something that just happens to us when we’re lucky. It’s something we can cultivate intentionally through specific practices that:

  1. Reset our nervous system when it’s stuck in fight-or-flight mode
  2. Create space between stimulus and response
  3. Connect us to our bodies’ wisdom rather than just our spinning thoughts
  4. Help us distinguish between urgent noise and important signals

The Mental Reset Toolkit contains several practices specifically designed to restore clarity when it feels lost. The 3-Step Reset process, in particular, has become my go-to method for quickly clearing mental fog and reconnecting with my deeper wisdom.

INTRODUCING: THE MENTAL RESET TOOLKIT

After using these practices with my coaching clients and witnessing their transformative effects, I knew I needed to make them more widely available. The Mental Reset Toolkit is specifically designed for overachievers and anyone walking the edge of burnout who needs practical, science-backed methods to interrupt stress cycles and restore balance.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • The 3-Step Reset: A simple but powerful process you can use anywhere to shift from reactivity to responsiveness
  • Guided Breathwork: Box and triangle breathing techniques that leverage your body’s natural ability to regulate emotions through breath
  • Carefully Crafted Affirmations: Not the generic “you are enough” variety, but specific statements designed to counteract the thought patterns most common among high-performers
  • The Feelings Wheel: A tool for emotional literacy that helps you identify and process emotions with precision
  • Daily Calm Tracker: Because what gets measured gets managed – a simple way to build awareness around your mental state
  • Audio and Video Guidance: For times when reading isn’t enough and you need a voice to guide you through

This toolkit isn’t about adding another item to your self-care to-do list. It’s about having reliable resources at your fingertips for those inevitable moments when life feels overwhelming – when you need to transition from work mode to parent mode in seconds, when anxiety wakes you at 3am, when you’re facing a high-stakes situation while already depleted.

MOVING FORWARD

So here I am, stepping back into this space with new perspective and deeper commitment to showing up as my full, imperfect self. I won’t promise daily posts or perfectly curated content. What I will promise is presence, authenticity, and a genuine desire to create value for this community.
